The head of the world’s leading Sunni institution expressed his unwavering support for Arab leaders’ efforts to end the war.
“We pray that God Almighty guides your efforts to halt the aggression and atrocities inflicted upon our brothers and sisters in beloved Palestine,” El-Tayyeb prayed.
Arab leaders have the support of the entire Arab world behind them, he added.
The Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit is being held in Riyadh on Saturday to coordinate a response to Israel’s military escalation in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories
El-Tayyeb concluded his statement with a Quranic verse saying: “Do not become weak, nor be sad, and you will be triumphant if you are indeed believers.”
Israel’s five-week war on Gaza has killed 11,078 Palestinians, including 4,506 children, according to the Palestinian health ministry in the strip. In addition, 27,490 people have been wounded.
Die West- Notbremsen aus US und Frankreich:
Natürlich nimmt diese USA-Äußerung in der muslimischen Gemeinschaft niemand mehr ernst. Es gab die UN- Abstimmung – FPI berichtete – und dort war das Stimmverhalten von USA und Frankreich so:

14 NEIN- Staaten:
Israel und USA – das war klar.
Fidschi, Marschall-Inseln, Nauru, Papua Neuguinea, Tonga, sind US- Insel- Vasallen, und so finanziellen Notwendigkeiten unterworfen.
Paraguay – interessant, aber eigentlich nebensächlich (wie die Inselstaaten auch).
In Österreich wurde als NEIN- Erklärung angeführt, der Iran hätte eben diese Resolution eingebracht, und da der Iran die Hamas unterstützt, wäre man dagegen gewesen.
Frankreich hingegen hat dieser UN- Resolution mit JA zugestimmt – Frankreich ist ernst zu nehmen.
